Kottayam: An eight-year-old girl drowned in the Meenachil river here, police said today. Suchitra, who was playing at the river bank, fell into the river while trying to take her chappals.The incident occurred while her mother was taking bath.
Though local people managed to pull her out and rushed her to the medical college hospital here, her life could not
be saved, police said.PTI
