Malappuram: Indian Union Muslim League Kerala unit General Secretary P K Kunhalikutty, Secretary M K Muneer and Youth League President K M Shaji figured among the list of 22 candidates released by the party for the April 13 Assembly Poll in the State.Releasing the list after a crucial Parliamentary Board meeting of the party here, State Unit President Panakkad Syed Hyderali Shihab Thangal said the three leaders will contest from Vengara in Malappuram, Calicut South in Kozhikode and Azhikode in Kannur District respectively.
The other party candidates are Kasargod: T B Abdu Razzaq (Manjeswaram), N A Nellikkunnu (Kasargod).
Kozhikode: C Moin Kutty (Tiruvambadi), V M Ummer Master (Koduvally), U C Raman (Kunnamangalam), Soopi Narikkatteri (Kuttiyadi).
Malappuram: K N A Khader (Vallikkunnu), K Mohammed Unni Haji (Kondotty), P K Abdu Rub (Tirurangadi), Abdu Rehman Randathani (Tanur), C Mammad (Tirur), P Ubaidulla (Malappuram), P A Ahamed Khabir (Mankada), Manhalamkuzhi Ali (Perinthalmann), Adv M Umer (Manjeri), P K Basheer (Eranad), Adv M Shamsuddin (Mannarkkad), M P Abdu Samad Samadhani (Kottakkal).
Ernakulam: V K Ibrahim Kunhu (Kalamasseri) Candidates for Guruvayur and Eravipuram, out of the total 24 seats allocated to the party by the UDF would be named later, he said.
To spearhead election campaign, he said the meet had constituted a nine-member steering committee headed by Secretary E T Mohammed Basheer, MP, as Chairman.
The other members of the committee are T P M Zahir, K P A Majeed, P V Abdul Wahab, C T Ahamedali, Kutty Ahamed Kutty, Moin Haji, P M A Salaam and Cherkalam Abdulla, he added.
Besides Thangal, Kunhalikutty, Basheer, Sadiqali Shihab Thangal, among others attended the meet presided over by IUML all India President and Union Minister of State for External Affairs E Ahamed.
