Kannur : Kerala Chief Minister and CPI (M) leader V S Achuthanandan today asked the people of the state to stand behind the Left Democratic Front (LDF) for continuity in governance. Speaking after paying floral tribute to Communist leader A K Gopalan at his statue here, the Chief Minister said the struggles of late leader was still relevant.
He said time had come to end the historical mission of alternative governments led by LDF and UDF in the state.
CPI(M) Polit Bureau Member and Home Minister Kodiyeri Balakrishnan, Health Minister P K Sreemathi, Devoswom Minister Kadanappalli Ramachandran and CPI(M) leaders E P Jayarajan, P Jayarajan and M V Govindhan attended the function.
Achuthanandan will tour different parts of the district for the election campaign of the LDF.
