    Karunakaran's daughter vents ire

Kochi : Expressing resentment over not providing due representation and sufficient seat to late Karunakaran faction in the ensuing elections to the state Assembly the former Chief Minister's daughter K Padmaja Venugopal alleged that the Kerala unit of the Congress had completely ignored the loyalists of her father.

Talking to reporters at her residence, she said though the Karunakara faction had sought at least six seats in the elections none of the leaders, including former MLA T V Chandramohan were considered. She said her father's 'soul' would not forgive this attitude of the state unit leadership.

Earlier a meeting was held at her residence to discuss the course of action against the denial of seats to the Karunakaran faction.

It observed that those who returned back to the Congress along with her late father, were not given due consideration by the Kerala unit of the Congress.

Alleging that the leaders of the Karunakaran faction were avoided completely, she asked whether the Congress party had forgotten his father just three months after his demise.

Stating that all details in this regard would be present before the people, she said the negligence on the part of the state unit would be brought to the attention of the High Command.

Though the state unit did not consider her name in the list, she would work for her brother K Muralidharan, who was contesting from Vattiyoorkavu, and other UDF candidates.
