Kochi: The recently concluded 'Gulfood, Dubai' exhibition witnessed unprecedented participation of Indian epices exporters as the Spices Board's stand was jam-packed with the Indian reprentatives from the trade. The Board had set up a pavillion in a 78 Sq mtr area in 'Gulfood 2011', organised by the Dubai World Centre from February 27 to March 2 at the Dubai Internatinal Convention Centre, Dubai, a press release said here.
Though the pavillion space was alloted to nine individual exporters, a smart turnout of 17 exporters was wintessed, it added.
Business visitors from various countries like Australia, European Countries, the UK, Africa, USA, UAE, Bangladesh, Malaysia, Canada, Brazil, Kuwait and Mauritius called on the stand and interacted with the Spices Board officials and the trade. The requirement of this business community was high quality spices in attractive packing, it added.
The trade enquired were mainly for cardamom, pepper, white pepper, vanilla, turmeric, dry ginger, seed spices, nutmeg, mace and value added products, it said.
Dubai Council General of India Sanjay Verma, APEDA Assistant General Manager Sudhashu made courtesy visits to the stand.
The event on behalf of Spices Board was coordinated by Spices Board Deputy Director Prabhavathy Thampuran and Marketing Intelligence Officer Mohanan Unni, it added.
