    Oomen Chandy raises doubts over Merchiston land deal

    Thiruvananthapuram : Leader of Opposition in Kerala Assembly Oomen Chandy today alleged that Home Minister Kodiyeri Balakrishnan was helping Xavy Mano Mathew in Merchiston land deal.In a press release here, Mr Chandy alleged that Mr Kodiyeri, who is staying in Mathew's house for the last five years, was helping Mr Mathew out-of-the-way in the land deal.

    Alleging that Chief Minister V S Achutanandan had failed to take any action against people invovled in the deal, he said Mr Mathew sold 81.5 acres of land to the ISRO for just Rs 3.26 crore, violating the rules.
