    Lavlin: Letter sent by VS to Karat revealed

    Thiruvananthapuram: The letter sent by chief minister V S Achuthanandan to CPM general secretary Prakash Karat on the actions taken by Pinarayi Vijayan in relation to the SNC Lavlin case has come out in the open. It was P T Thomas MP who distributed copy of the letter at a press meet on Monday. VS has stated in the letter sent on July 29, 2005 that Pinarayi had executed the deal by anti-party and anti-national activities and submitted evidence to this. The letter was sent prior to issuing the final report by the Comptroller and Auditor General. The letter also stated that during the discussion on no-confidence motion on July 12th, 18th and 19th, 2005 over the loss of Rs 374.5 crore to the exchequer, VS said the then CM Chandy had attacked the MLAs, electricity minister and the opposition. VS said the deal flouted all established procedures and incurred a loss of crores to the exchequer.
