Lahore: Pakistan team manager Intikhab Alam Tuesday confirmed that former captain Javed Miandad declined the offer to coach the national side due to personal reasons. Miandad had earlier said that he would consider taking up the job of a batting coach after Pakistan's tour of West Indies, beginning April 18.
'The Pakistan team surely needs a batting coach and the board approached Miandad, but he unfortunately declined the offer because of personal reasons. I am sure that he will help the players in the near future,' Alam said during the two-day training camp here at the Gaddafi Stadium.
Miandad has served three times as the head coach and is currently a director with the Pakistan Cricket Board.
