New Delhi:
From evincing interest in a Jaguar car dealership to a platform for Kalaignar TV on Tata Sky to a job with Tata Consultancy Services. These were some of the many favours that R K Chandolia, personal secretary to then Telecom Minister A Raja, sought from the Tatas during his conversations with her, corporate lobbyist Niira Radia has claimed in her statement to the CBI.
The Radia statement, recorded under Section 161 of CrPC before the CBI, forms part of the chargesheet filed by the agency in the 2G spectrum case.
“The conversations... were regarding putting the efforts of bringing the Kalaignar TV on Tata Sky platform and their pending application with Tata Communications for allocation of transponder bandwidth... the reference to “boss” in the conversation means Raja,” Radia said in her statement.
“I also had a conversation in this regard with Raja, he was just asking me to put my efforts for getting the above expedited with Tata Sky and Tata Communications... Kalaignar TV during that time was not put on the Tata Sky platform due to paucity of space,” she said.
