    Every panchayat to have a fair price shop

    The Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has asked to open at least one fair price shop at every Gram Panchayat in the state. He also instructed to ensure a fair price shop at each five thousand populated area in urban. The Chief Minster Shivraj Singh Chouhan was reviewing progress of food civil supplies and consumer protection department here at Mantralaya today.
    The Chief Minister Chouhan asked to take decision on conducting fair price shop by the committees in the areas of joint forest management committees. Chouhan instructed officials of forest and civil supplies department to reach a consensus and to take immediate decision in this regard.
    Chouhan said that it is top priority of the state government to provide food to the poor people at cheaper rates in the state. He stressed on implementing bar-coded food coupon scheme in all districts. It was informed at the meeting that the scheme would be implemented in 21 districts before the end of this year. The coupon scheme will be implemented in rest districts in next fiscal year.
    At the meeting, it was also discussed that food quota should be distributed as per head of family members instead of per ration card to the beneficiaries of BPL and Antyodaya families.

    Formulate Policy For Storage Facilities In Private Sector
    Reviewing the progress of wheat procurement, the Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has suggested to formulate policy to develop godown and cold storage facilities in private sector. He instructed to develop a logistic hub at Panwarkheda, Bina and Ujjain.
    Chouhan instructed to speed up the work for temporary cap for the storage of wheat. Stressing on developing storage, the Chief Minister advised to use amount from 260 crore under the Bundelkhand package allocated for storage and marketing.
    It was informed at the meeting that 15 lakh tonne wheat has been procured on support price. Facility for 27 lakh tonne wheat storage is available against 30 to 35 lakh tonne wheat procurement in private and government sector. Storage at temporary cap work for the remaining 8 lakh tonne wheat is in progress.

    Farmers Must Get Money Timely
    The Chief Minister Chouhan asked the officials to ensure timely payment to the farmers on support price as well as bonus amount by depositing into their account. Finance department has been instructed to pay advance amount of bonus to procurement agencies.
    At the meeting, minister of state for food and civil supplies Paras Jain, chief secretary Avani Vaish, food and civil supplies principal secretary R. Ramanujam, commissioner Mandi Ajat Shatru were present.
