A 19-year-old Delhi University student has alleged that she was abducted by her 23-year-old neighbour who took her to Greater Noida where he raped her for three days, the police said on Tuesday.
The police said the victim, a student of Acharya Narendra Dev College, had gone missing on April 13, following which her father lodged a complaint at Pul Prahladpur police station. However, the victim mysteriously appeared along with the accused, Farhan, a motor mechanic, at the Govindpuri police station on April 15 and told the cops that she had gone with Farhan on her own will.
“On April 16, she recanted her statement before an SDM and alleged that she was raped by the accused several times. The victim alleged that she was waiting for a bus on Mehrauli-Badarpur Road when the accused, Farhan, appeared at the spot and forced her inside his car and drove away,” a senior police official said.
The victim was then taken by Farhan to an apartment in Greater Noida where she was raped for the next two days. On April 16, the victim managed to flee from the apartment and returned to her Pul Prahladpur residence, where she narrated the incident to her father,” a senior police official said.
“A case under sections of 376, 365, 506 and 342 of the IPC has been registered and a manhunt has been launched to arrest the accused. The accused has been living in the victim’s neighbourhood for the past four months and he will be held soon,” the official said.
