Women employees’ forum of BHEL, Bhopal- ‘WIPS’ organised its Annual programme at BHEL cultural hall, Piplani on Saturday. Executive Director of BHEL Bhopal MK Dube, President of BHEL Ladies Club Bharti Dube, GM (HR) Girish Shrivastava, President of WIPS (Bhopal Chapter) Sarla Menon, officials of WIPS and large number of female employees were present on this occasion. Retired IAS and renowned social activist MN Buch was present as the guest of honour and distinguished speaker.

Dube expressed gratitude for the officials of WIPS Bhopal chapter and thanked them for the marvelous job being done in this sector. He said that to make the International Women’s Centenary memorable, work should be done to bring the girls and women into the mainstream of the society who are still deprived of all such facilities. Appreciating the awareness spread between the women employees of their roles & responsibilities he added that the process needs to be expedited in the Corporate Social Responsibility part.

Buch speaking on this occasion made the gathering aware of that section of the society where female foeticide is still in practice and women are treated as a second citizen. There are numerous laws to combat this issues, but it is the responsibility rather duty of the citizen to bring back on track, said Buch. We should all therefore endeavour to provide the women their due in the society.

Shrivastava in his address highlighting the facilities being provided to the female employees said that there is no difference between the male and female employees within the company. The growth of the company has resulted due to equal contribution of the male & female employees. He congratulated the WIPS officials for their contribution to the company and the society.
