The Christian Festival Society will celebrate the resurrection festival of Jesus Christ with great pleasure on Sunday. The Society will organise a grand Easter Festival 2011’ at Dussehra ground located at Bittan Market on this occasion.
Spokesperson of Bhopal Diocese, Fr Anand Muttungal told mediapersons here on Saturday that around 8,000 persons from all religions would participate in the programme.
Archbishop Leo Carnelio will inaugurate the programme. In-charge of welcome committee Richard De Silva said that Urban Administration and Development Minister Babulal Gaur would be the chief guest of the programme and MP Kailash Joshi, Legislator Arif Akeel, Chairman of Minority Commission Anwar Mohammad Khan would be the guest of honour.
The Viva Orchestra will present a music programme on this occasion.
In-charge of the programme SK Lal said that like every year, this year also special programmes are being organised for youth as well as children like best couple, best kids, singing, group dance, and others.
Vice-President of Society OD Joseph said there are a lot of people in Bhopal who hail from different places so the food fair has been organised in the Easter Festival in which dishes from north, south, east and west have been included.
The president of society CP Singh has invited noted pop singer Sadu of Aryan group and Rickle dance group to perform a cultural programme and make the occasion more attractive. Thereafter, Alka Nigam (voice of Asha Bhosle), Anil Nagurkar (Voice of Kishore Kumar) and Sushma Lakra will present a song on Jesus Christ.
Secretary of Society Manesh Mathew said that the people who have contributed for the society would be awarded in this festival.
