Actors pay homage to Baba

he demise of spiritual Guru and God for many devotees, Bhagavan Shri Satya Sai Baba has come as a rude shock to many in Tollywood. Actors Murali Mohan, Mohanbabu, Balakrishna, Rajnikanth, Saikumar, singer P Susheela, veteran actress Anjali Devi, Jamuna, Krishna Kumari et al are devotees of Sai.

Anjali Devi even acted in a teleserial on Sai Baba. Jamuna is a frequent visitor to Baba's ashram. Ditto with P Susheela.

Anjali Devi and P Susheela visited Puttaparthi on Monday to get their last glimpse of Baba. They collapsed in tears looking at their favourite God lying lifeless infront of them. Susheela was unconsolable. She hugged minister Geeta Reddy and wept like a child.Actor turned politician Chiranjeevi too was spotted at Prashanti Nilayam in Puttaparthi.

Infact singer Ghantasala was a devotee of Baba too. Ditto with Mohammed Rafi from Hindi film industry. Amitabh Bachchan recollected how Baba's Viboodhi saved him from illness during the major accident a few years ago. Shatrughan Sinha remembered how Baba asked him if he wanted twins and he said yes. Now Sinha has twin boys Luv and Kush. Malayalam stars Mohanlal and Suresh Gopi too figure in Baba's star devotees list.

Tollywood personalities expressed shock on the death of Baba and hoped his charity activities continue. Young actors Rana Daggubati, Lakshmi Manchu and Sushanth prayed that his soul rest in peace while hoping that his good work in the field of education and health care for poor should continue.

"Sai Baba didn't die. He just left his body. He gave free water to so many districts in AP. He is god among humans." Mohanbabu said in a statement.

Bollywood personalities Madhur Bhandarkar, Ritesh Deshmukh, Madhavan, Anupam Kher, Vivek Oberoi and Shriya Saran expressed sadness over Baba's demise and wished his philonthraphic work continues.

More actors and celebrities are expected to visit Puttaparthi to take darshan of Sai as devotees are allowed to see the body until evening on Tuesday. Baba will be cremated in Prashanti Nilayam Kulwant Hall on Wednesday morning.
