The first pictures sent by Resourcesat-2, covering 3,000 km of Indian territory from Joshimutt in Uttrakhand to Kannur in Kerala, were received and processed at the National Remote-Sensing Centre's (NRSC) ground station at Shadnagar, near Hyderabad, on Thursday.

The NRSC received the images after the three cameras on board the Resourcesat-2 were switched on during the day, according to an Indian Space Research Organisation official.
The images were of good quality, he said.
India's Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle (PSLV-C16) put three satellites including Resourcesat-2, Youthsat and X-Sat into a polar sun-synchronous orbit on April 20. The three satellites were working satisfactorily.
