Five members of a dacoit gang from Maharashtra were arrested from Bhoyra village in this district on Friday night, police said. On a tip-off, a police team led by Station House Officer RC Bhaskar arrested dacoits Prakash, Jam Singh, Tolu and one else besides gang chieftain Uday Singh and seized two country-made guns, cash and other looted materials.
Uday Singh was wanted by Maharashtra’s Thane police in a murder case since the past one year.
He was arrested earlier by police but had escaped. The gang’s involvement was suspected in a theft case and a loot incident in Jhabua.
