Thiruvananthapuram : Ms Padmaja Venugopal, daughter of late Congress leader K Karunakaran, today opined that her brother K Muraleedharan is qualified for a ministerial post in the UDF Ministry. ''K Muraleedharan, being the seniormost leader and a Former KPCC Chief in the Congress Party, must be given a respectable Ministerial post in the UDF Ministry'', she told reporters.
''Party must hold talks on the marginal win of UDF in the Assembly polls. The shortcomings in deciding the right candidates had led to the party's setback,'' she added.
''Many Karunakaran loyalists were avoided during the finalisation of candidates in the elections.
''This is also one of the reasons for the poor performance of Congress in the elections,'' she added.
