Girl killed as tipper lorry rams over children

Changaramkulam: A girl student was killed when a tipper rammed against a group of four children who were returning from a Madrassa on Tuesday. Noorul Habeeba, 10, daughter of Abbas from Alanmkode, was killed when a tipper rammed against the children who were walking on the road. The incident occurred at 9 am near the Assbah College in Thrissur - Edappal State Highway. An overspeeding tipper coming from Perumbilavu to Kuttipuram lost control and rammed against the children who were walking on the right hand side after returning from the Kolikkara madrassa. The speeding lorry violated traffic rules. Seeing the lorry approaching them the children ran helter skelter and a kid fell into a sewage. The lorry hit Habeeba and though she was rushed to the hospital her life could not be saved.

Shifa, 10, who fell into the sewage, is under treatment at the Perumbilavu Ansar hospital. The infuriated mob later destroyed the lorry. Sabira is Habeebas's mother.
