No immediate plans to retire from politics: Gaur

    Gwalior

Former Chief Minister of MP and Urban Administration Minister Babulal Gaur does not have any intention of retirement from politics. He does not agree with the formula of State BJP president Prabhat Jha that retirement from politics should be taken after the age of 65 years.

At a Press conference on Saturday, he said that the Constitution of BJP does not impose any such condition. He said that I have stamina to be active in politics up to 90 years of age. After conducting review of urban bodies, Gaur called a Press briefing on Saturday. He said that many politicians have discharged important responsibilities in growing age.

Regarding the shortage of money for development, Gaur said that the MP Government has to pay `1,098 crore from Central Government. On receipt of the amount, the pace of development would increase. To a query whether Gwalior could be included in JNNURM, Gaur said that he is going to call on the Union Urban Development Minister in Delhi.

We would get Gwalior included in the second phase of JNNURM, he affirmed. On the economic condition of urban bodies, he said that pace of work is lethargic in many bodies including Morena. Without recovery of tax how development could be made. He said that anti-tax people are anti-development. Gaur was very strict against encroachments.

He said that no encroachment would be spared which is obstructing the development and beautification of the city. He said, “We have used hammers and bulldozers to remove encroachments in Gwalior so far, but we would also use gun powder if need be,” said Gaur.

“We have shown this by blasting illegal construction Minaal Mall in Bhopal, he said.”

On the status of work in urban bodies of the State, Gaur said that a list of such officers has been prepared who have lagged behind. They would be given ultimatum for the first time and if there is no improvement they can be removed. He said that he would himself take round of all the seven divisions in every three to four months to test the situation.

Gwalior Mayor Samiksha Gupta was also present on this occasion.
