A mother at 60
Bangalore: It's joyful time for Chandramma as she became a mother at the age of 60. Chandramma, wife of farmer Rangaswamy from Hasen, Karnataka, gave birth to her third child. Mother and kid are doing fine at the Chamrajedran hospital. The kid weighs 1.75 kgs. When a woman attains 40 years of age, the chances of getting pregnant are rare. Dr Suneetha said conceiving after 50 years is very rare. Her husband Rangswamy is 10 years younger than Chandramma. Her son is 12 years old and daughter 14. Papathiyammal from Erode,Tamil Nadu is considered the oldest mother at the age of 64 in February 2004.
