Former Indian goalkeeper NS Nair passes away

Changanassery: N S Nair (N Somasekharan Nair), former goalkeeper of the Indian Football team who belonged to the Changanassery Peruna Avittapillil family, which is known as goal keeper's family, passed away in Mumbai on Wednesday. He was 74.He was the goalkeeper of the Indian team from 1957. After his studies in Kerala, he left for Mumbai and become a goal keeper of Kaltex and later Mafatlal. He also worked as team manager of Mafatlal. His younger brother Vijayakumar, Babu and Vinayakumar were international goal keepers. His wife Dr Sulochana, professor in Alappuzha, is now running a maternity home in Mumbai. His children are Dr Sangeetha and Dr Rishikesh. Son-in-law is Dr Satheesh Kumar. Cremation would be held in Mumbai later.
