Kozhikode: P K Krishnakumari, 80, wife of late Adv P V Sankaranarayanan, who was the first Congress Mayor of the Kozhikode corporation and an MLA, passed away at her residence in Azhchavattom. Krishnakumari was a noted figure in the political, art and cultural scenarios of Kozhikode. She was bedridden for the last five years. She was an active Congress worker and was district president of the women's front for 12 years. Later she became state secretary for four years.
She was a committee member of Kalamandalam for 6 years. She is the daughter of late Kunjimama and Valliyamma from Thrissur. Her children are P S Nisha, Mathrubhumi, Kozhikode, P S Nelson, Bangalore, P S Rajeev, P S Asha and late P S Anisha.
