Kannur : The Bharatiya Janatha Party (BJP) today said it would organise a march to Pariyararm Medical College (PMC) on June 21, demanding that the government must take over PMC from the society.Talking to reporters here, BJP Kerala Unit General Secretary K Surendran said the education sector which is public should not surrender to corporate lobbies.
Meanwhile, the Congress and pro-Congress organisations demanded the dissolution of the Board of Directors of PMC society led by CPM leader M V Jayarajan.
The PMC was entirely different from other self finance colleges because it was using the land grants of the government, he said.
The government was forced to bend to the demands of the self= financing managements to allot full seats under management quota, he alleged.
BJP suspected that the seat provided to health minister Adoor Prakash's daughter was a strategic game by the CPI-M led Board of Directors to conceal the irregularities, he alleged.
To a question, Mr Surendran also alleged that the state government was controlling the admissions to Amritha Institute of self- financing college.
