    Latest News from India - Suspected endosulfan victims in Kozhikode: Officials recommend more studie

    Koyilandi: Officials of revenue, agriculture and health department has recommended more studies about endosulfan in Chembanoda and Pannikotoor in Chakitapara panchyat where people with physical disabilities were found. They said if the reason for disabilities is suspected to be spraying of endosulfan, then more studies should to be conducted.A team led by Koyilandi tahsildar M Abdul Salam visited the place. It is learnt that they were affected with disabilities due to spraying of endosulfan in the cashew plantations of Plantation Corporation in Perambra but whether it was sprayed after 2001 is not known.

    Meanwhile, agriculture minister KP Mohanan said the government is viewing the matter seriously and immediate action would be taken after getting a detailed report .
