Medical facilities for State residents still not satisfactory

    Bhopal

Public Health and Family Welfare Minister Narottam Mishra has said that large-scale success has been achieved in Madhya Pradesh in providing better medical facilities to people but the situation is still not satisfactory.

He said that the situation will become satisfactory only when the objective of the State Government to provide health facilities to every poor is fulfilled. For this, the Government is exploring possibilities of those sectors, which can work with a sense of service to fulfill the Government's intention.

Mishra was declaring closed the three-day national workshop on private-public participation in the health sector on Monday. Those present on the occasion included Principal Secretary Health Dilip Samantray, Commissioner, Health JN Kansotiya and programme manager of DFID India Jaya Singh.

The Health Minister said that the decisions taken by Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan regarding health sector have led to large-scale improvement in health services, especially the rural areas of the State. But the State Government is not satisfied with this success. The State Government's target will be achieved only when all the people living in the remote areas of the State, especially the poor, get complete healthcare.

The Health Minister said that a cashless scheme has been launched by the State Government for providing health services to pregnant women and newborn children. Around 108 ambulance services were started so that people can avail of quick medical response facility in emergencies. Smart cards were prepared. Despite launching a number of schemes, we still face the

challenge of restoring people's confidence in Government medical institutions. He said that efforts were undertaken in the country to work with private sector in various development schemes.
