All Govt offices to be converted into tobacco-free zones

All the Government offices will be converted into tobacco-free zones and the Government officers will make all their efforts for the fulfillment of this goal. District collector Nikunj Shrivastava issued directives in this regard here on Monday.

Smoking at public places is a punishable offense and now the effective efforts will be taken which could stop the use of tobacco in practical manner. It has been decided in the TL meeting organised at collectorate that the hoarding related to the hazards of smoking would be displayed in every office so that common people could be aware of the statements mentioned on the tobacco.

Around each offices and institutions, nodal official will be appointed, who will keep an eye on the situation. The phone numbers of the officials would be displayed on the hoarding through which the action could be taken according the rules and regulations against the smokers.

It may be noted that the smokers are totally unaware of the ill-effects in the long run. The smoking badly affects the small kid of the home. The child who do not eat anything and if anyone smokes in his/her family than uselessly they get affected indirectly and in future they suffered a lot.

Same condition took place with the people who do not smoke and the smoker smokes in front of him. It is with these points in mind that Tobacco Control Act has been implemented in which the smoking is a crime at offices, institutions, public places and others. In the form of punishment penalty and imprisonment both are the provision for the smokers.
