Chathanoor: Two persons died as a truck carrying LPG cylinders hit an auto on Monday. Auto driver Paripilli Rajan, 46, and auto traveller Paripilli Sarojayamma, 52, wife of Chandaranpillai, are the deceased. As the police did not reach the spot on time, locals created commotion on the road and created a blockade.The incident occurred at Paripilli Thettikuzhi junction at 11 am. Rajan was an auto driver at Paripilii stand and Sarojayamma was returning home in his auto after buying groceries from the junction. The truck, which was heading towards Kazhakaootam gas refilling plant, hit the auto.
Though the natives rushed them to the nearby private hospital their lives could not be saved. Two days back a bike traveler also died in an accident at the same spot.
The highway police who reached the spot after some time immediately left the scene. Seeing this, natives agitated and blocked the road for half an hour.
Sunitha is Rajan's wife and children Revathi and Raji. Raji and Rani are Sarojayamma's children. The truck driver Anirudhan from Chirayinkeezhu was held.
