Leader of Opposition in Kerala Assembly V S Achuthanandan stated that the ongoing agitation by the students unions of Left Front in connection with the Self-Finance college admission issue was temporarily withdrawn.Talking to mediapersons after attending the all-party meeting convened by the Chief Minister here, he said the agitation was withdrawn following a discussion on the issue in the meeting.
The Oppostion would extend all possible support to the Government to solve the issue ensuring social justice, he added.
He hoped that an amicable solution could be formulated after discussions between the private managements and the government.
The CPI(M)-led Opposition parties extended all support for ensuring social justice in connection with the admissions to the colleges.
Meanwhile, former Education Minister M A Baby said managements should ensure social justice while admitting students into the professional courses. The issues related to the fee structure should also be addressed by the managements, he added.
