Thiruvananthapuram: Chief minister Oommen Chandy said that injustice in the school fee structure would be put to an end. He said there should not be any partiality that schools run by minorities can levy any fee as they like and the schools of majority communities should stick to the older fee structure. The government won't accept this and the government would provide the right to schools run by majority to levy the fee on par with the fee of minority schools.The CM would be in Delhi from August 22 to 26 for the unification of central aided state projects. He would spend five days there and would connect with concerned ministers and check the present status of the projects.
The time period of the commission probing the Cheriyathura firing and Malappuram hooch tragedy would be extended to 6 more months. The cabinet has recognized the report submitted by minister P K Jeyalakshmi and Adoor Prakash after visiting cholera-hit colonies in Wayanad. As per the report, toilets would be constructed in three colonies.
Apart from that a model toilet block project would be implemented in 50 tribal colonies. The cabinet has also decided to appoint CP Ramarajapremaprasad as law secretary and Alexander Luke as KSRTC MD.
