Kochi: The CBI has detected a fraud of Rs 50 lakh in the repair works of Karippur airport runway. The investigation team has submitted a primary report in the special court by naming four people as accused.A contract of Rs 17 crore was given to BR Associates in Delhi for repair works. The CBI alleges that though the company gave bills on purchase of tar worth Rs 50 lakh, majority of the bills were fake. CBI, while probing the case, made a sudden search in the office of BR Associates in Delhi and seized many documents.
The report has been given naming Prakash Kandahar, senior manger of engineering section of the airport, former managers Sreedhar, Bino Sabu and BR Arora as accused. The CBI said a probe is progressing in Bangalore too.
