Accident victim rushed to hospital by minister, succumbs
Ambalappuzha: An accident victim, who was rushed to a hospital by Union minister K C Venugopal on Saturday, succumbed to his injuries. Abdul Jabbar, 43, son of Ibrahim from Vandanam died. The accident occurred at 11.45 am on the Haripad NH and Abdul Jabbar and his wife Thahira were on the way to invite for their daughter's marriage when they were hit by a goods auto. Thahira was not hurt. The minister, who was returning from Mavelikkara after paying homage to Dr PC Alexander, saw Thahira crying out for help. Jabbar was lying in a pool of blood. The Minister gave instruction to his gunman Hari to rush Jabbar to a hospital in his car and at the same time gave instructions to Vandanam medical college superintendent to do all the needful. But they were unable to save Jabbar as the injuries he suffered were serious. Jabbar's elder daughter Jasmin's marriage is scheduled on September 11. His other children are Jessy and Abu Thahir.
