Expressing concern over media reports about the bickering among senior BJP leaders, Shiv Sena chief Bal Thackeray said on Saturday that the triphala churna (a herbal remedy for removing toxins in the body) concocted by the RSS, Nitin Gadkari and LK Advani at Nagpur, was troubling Narendra Modi.
In a sympathetic take on the reported stand-off between Advani and the Gujarat Chief Minister, Thackeray stated: “While the blaze is petering out in the Congress, a fire has broke out in the BJP. That is impression one gets after reading newspaper reports these days”.
“They say that triphala churna helps cleanse the stomach. We sincerely hope that the triphala churna will help remove the toxins from the minds of leaders in our party’s ally. We also would like to see that the newspaper reports about the bickering among the senior BJP leaders would prove to be mere rumours,” the Sena chief said in an editorial published in the Sena’s official mouth-piece Saamna.
“The triphala churna (a powder that is a blend of most popular Ayurvedic herbs like Haritaki, Bhibhitaki and Amalaki) prepared by the RSS, Gadkari and Advani at Nagpur is troubling Modi. As is his wont, Modi expressed his displeasure (over the manner in which the party leadership was cold-shouldering him) by boycotting the BJP’s National Executive meeting in Delhi.
There are not many takers for the version put out by his aides that he did not go the capital owing his pre-occupation with Navaratri,” Thackeray said.
