Latest News from India - World Athletics: 'Disappointed' Bolt now eyes win in 200m

Daegu : Usain Bolt, who was disqualified for a false start in the men's 100m final at the World Athletics Championships here Sunday, said he would not like to dwell on his mistake and is focussed on winning the 200m event. The world's fastest man, who took the gold in the 2009 edition, sent a congratulation note to his Jamaican teammate Yohan Blake for winning the race Sunday night. Bolt, however, conceded that he was 'extremely disappointed' after faltering at the start of the marquee event.

'I was feeling great through the rounds and was ready to run fast in the final. I worked very hard to get ready for this Championships and things were looking good,' he said, referring to his easy wins in the heats and the semifinal of the 100m.

Xinhua quoted Bolt as insisting that he has moved on now 'as there is no point to dwell on the past'.

'I have a few days to refocus and get ready for the 200m Friday. After this I have the 4x100m and a few other races before the end of the season. I know that I am now in good shape and will focus on running well in the 200m.

'I will try my best to make you proud in the 200m,' he added.
