An NSG Commando allegedly committed suicide after shooting himself with his service rifle at the Quarter Guard Campus, Manesar in Gurgaon.
Surender Paun (35), part of the 51-SAG group was a native of Hoshiarpur in Punjab and had been living at the Manesar Campus. Police did not find any suicide note from the spot. The incident took place on Thursday evening at around 7 pm when Paun was on duty. He shot himself on his forehead with his MP-5 rifle.
He is survived by two children and wife who live in his home town. “A case has been registered in Manesar Police station and police are investigating the case. No suicide note was found and we are probing the reason behind his act” said Maheshwar Dayal, DCP (EAST), Gurgaon.
