    Latest News from India - DGP-led panel to probe unlawful cops: CM

    Thiruvananthapuram: Chief minister Oommen Chandy informed the assembly that a high level committee, led by the DGP, has been appointed to investigate against policemen who are alleged to be involved in criminal cases. The committee includes DGP, ADGP, intelligence DGP, crime ADGP north zone and south zone. It would examine all cases against the accused and submit decisions within six months. Depending on the report, action would be taken against those who are not fit to continue in service. CM said till now, 68 policemen who were involved in some crime, have been removed. Moreover, 556 policemen are also alleged to have been involved in crime and they have been removed from law and order duties.
