Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday emphasised the need for adopting Indian concept of development. He also said we should not follow the western pattern, which is not suitable for agriculture-based economy of the country.
Delivering a lecture, under Deendayal Upadhaya Memorial lecture series on Indian concept of development, he said that during the past 10 years, Gujarat has started many schemes based on this concept. These have not only been appreciated by the Centre, but have also advised and given the idea to the other States to follow the same.
Modi said that all these schemes of his Government follow the principle of people’s participation, which had given them a sense of belonging.
Many schemes, including empowerment of women, have been appreciated by the UNO and other international organisations. He said now Gujarat could boost of being a State where all its 18000 villages are getting 24-hour power supply and all of them are connected with broadband Internet connection, which no other State is enjoying.
