Bharatiya Janata Party leader L.K. Advani Saturday demanded a white paper from Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on the action taken by the United Progressive Alliance Government to bring back black money from Swiss banks but he did not spell out the time his own party would take to initiate action on the issue.
"Prime Minister Manmohan Singh says government has taken action on bringing back black money, so I demand a white paper on the actions his government has taken, in the coming session of parliament," said Advani, in Jabalpur district of Madhya Pradesh during his Jan Chetna Yatra over corruption and black money.
"I am also demanding it because since the matter got highlighted, black money is being transferred from Swiss banks to other banks," Advani told reporters.
When asked about the time BJP would take to act on the issue, Advani said: "I cannot say about the time frame. We have come to power in centre only for six years and in that period our prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee had initiated the issue."
Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan and BJP spokesperson Ravi Shankar Prasad accompanied Advani in the press conference.
Meanwhile, BJP has suspended its Satna media in-charge Shyam Gupta after the Satna unit allegedly gave money to media persons for coverage of the yatra.
BJP state president Prabhat Jha suspended Gupta Friday night.

Observing that the RTI Act is an effective device for making government transparent, BJP leader L K Advani today criticised Prime Minister Manmohan Singh's statement favouring a "critical look" at the law and said his party was opposed to any such move.
Advani said that only sometime back the government had showered praise on the RTI Act, saying it had brought transparency.
"My party is opposed to any reviewing of the RTI Act because I do believe that it is an effective device for making government transparent," he told reporters here.
He said the Prime Minister had made his comments at a time when nobody was complaining about the RTI Act.
Criticising the government, the BJP leader said he had "never seen a government more corrupt and more dysfunctional and paralysed than this government."
Advani also said that he "liked the fact that Anna Hazare had contradicted Prashant Bhushan's comments," on Kashmir.
However, the BJP leader said he had not mentioned it earlier as he did not want anyone to interpret that he was happy at any sign of dissension in Team Anna.
About allegations against his own partymen of distributing money to reporters, Advani said once the allegations were brougt to his notice, "I immediately spoke to the state President (and asked) what is this, a question has been raised to me about corruption and action has been taken."

Alleging that the Congress-led UPA government was neck deep in corruption, BJP leader L K Advani today said that the day was not far when the government would have to call its Cabinet meeting in Tihar Jail.
"It is really unfortunate for Indian democracy that the UPA ministers, neck deep in corruption, are going to jail. It appears that the sad day is not far when the UPA government would have to convene its Cabinet meeting in Tihar jail," he said addressing supporters during his Jan-Chetna Yatra in Umaria district.
Advani was referring to a series of arrests, including that of former Telecom Minister A Raja, DMK MP Kanimozhi and Congress leader Suresh Kalmadi, in connection with the 2G and CWG cases.
The BJP leader said the action taken against the leaders was not due to the good intentions of the UPA government, but because of the intervention of the Supreme Court.
He alleged that the Centre was not doing anything on the issue of corruption and black money and was also responsible for the high inflation in the country.
If the black money stashed away in foreign banks is brought back, then it can provide for basic facilities in six lakh villages of the country, he added.
