    Conference discusses Gwalior IT potential

    Human resources equipped with knowledge and skills are available in abundance in Chambal region and the infrastructure of this area is favourable for investment. The need of the hour is that big companies should create job opportunities here, this was stated by Collector Akash Tripathi on the possibilities of investment in IT Park area set up by prestigious IT Company Jain Pack in Gwalior. The meeting was organised in New Collectorate auditorium. The Gwalior would be developed as IT hub.

    In the discussion, on possibilities of investment in IT Park, Tripathi, joint collector VK Batham and MD of IIDC KK Tiwari took part. General manager Santosh Shrivastava, vice-president of Chamber of Commerce and Industry Praveen Agrawal, vice-president of Jain Pack Company and Arun Krishnan and directors of local engineering colleges and officers of housing board participated.

    During the discussion, Arun Krishnan discusses on detailed information about availability of human resource in Gwalior and their use in outside companies. He also discussed about basic amenities.

    Similarly, they inquired from the directors of engineering colleges about placement. In the discussion, it was found that there is no shortage of capable engineers in this region but the skill of communication and English do not allow them to get placement in big companies.

    The major companies of IT field like Jain Pack can provide them new opportunity by investing in IT Park and Gwalior could be developed as IT hub. It was stated in the meeting that Gwalior is well connected to North, South, East and West corridors and the proximity of Gwalior with Metro city like Delhi is helping it to develop in a big IT field.

    At the end of the meeting, the vice-president of Jain Pack Krishnan said, the company is searching possibilities to invest around `2,000 crore in IT Park which is being developed in Gwalior.
