The Emergency Management and Research Institute (GVK EMRI) organised a reward and recognition programme to motivate and reward the best EMTs (Emergency Medical Technicians) and pilots.
ADM Bhopal Basant Kurre was invited as the chief guest on the occasion. The programme started with the presentation on Progress of 108 Emergency Services in Madhya Pradesh by Regional COO of the GVK EMRI (Madhya Pradesh) Rajesh Waghmare.
Kurre gave the awards to the best performing associates who were judged on different behavioral, functional and technical aspects like- Team work, discipline in field, behavior, telephonic communication skills, field achievements and effectiveness in giving pre hospital care. Based on these parameters Mangla Yawatkar, Vishal Sahu, Puneshwar Bisen got the award for the best EMT. Shaukat Khan, Abhijeet Sen, Sachin Kushwaha got the award for the best Pilot.
Speaking on the occasion Shri Basant Kurre, ADM Bhopal said, "The 108 emergency ambulance services in Madhya Pradesh is doing wonders since it was launched and patients across the state availing the emergency facility in the quickest possible time ". People from both the rural and urban areas are getting benefit of this service.
Beneficiaries were invited to share their experiences with the Services. The 108 Emergency Response Services started in Madhya Pradesh on July 16, 2009. Currently the services are operational in Bhopal, Jabalpur, Gwalior, Indore, Rewa, Sagar, Datia, Damoh and Sehore with 99 ambulances. Total calls 23523356 have been received till October 20, 2011. They included 486351 emergency calls. The services has responded to 318990 emergencies and saved 15910 lives. A total of 2426 deliveries in ambulances have been reported till October 20.
