Thadiyantavide Nazeer, self-styled South India commander of the LeT, and its Oman-based fund-raiser Sarafaras Nawaz, both accused in the Bangalore serial blasts case, would be transferred to the Central Prison at Viyyur, Thrissur due to security reasons.
The decision is on the basis of Intelligence reports on security hazards at the Central Prison in Kannur.
The two terror-accused, lodged earlier at the Kannur prison following their request to the court, are presently in confinement in a Bangalore prison. Considering the risks involved in taking the duo out of jail for court proceedings frequently, the ADGP (Prisons) issued the order on shifting the duo to the Viyyur prison which had video-conferencing facility.
