An 18-year-old girl committed suicide by hanging at her Anna Nagar residence in Govindpura locality on Friday morning. Police claimed the girl had asked her father to buy her new clothes and could not get the same, following which she was feeling depressed.
According to the police, the victim Sapna, daughter of Janardan Ahire, was annoyed with her father as he could not buy her new clothes on the festival of Diwali. Janardan, who is a truck driver by profession, told police that he got delayed in buying clothes as he was out of the town.
Police said on Friday morning, Sapna had a dispute over the similar issue with her father and other family members. Later, when the family members were away, she ended her life by hanging from the raft in ceiling of the kitchen. Victim’s brother was the first one to see the body and immediately informed the police. The police have registered a case under sections 174 of the CrPC and started investigation.
Meanwhile, in another incident, an eight-year-old boy died after having sustained head injury after falling on metals. According to the Aishbagh police, the boy Sohail, son of Mohd Raees was playing near railway crossing. As a train passed from the tracks, the boy faced heavy breeze and fell down on the metals. He sustained head injury and was rushed to Hamidia hospital, where he was declared brought dead. The Aishbagh police have registered a case under section 174 of the CrPC and started investigation.
