Invitation cards of Madhya Pradesh Foundation Day’s State-level function will be sent on behalf of Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan to every household of Bhopal. This information was given by Culture Minister Laxmikant Sharma after performing bhumi poojan for the stage to be built for the function at Lal Parade Ground here on Friday.
Function’s theme is ‘Beti’. Cultural programmes will be presented focusing women’s creative power and capabilities. Attractive fireworks will add to the beauty of the function. It will be displayed by Morani Group, which had displayed fireworks at Commonwealth Games. Since the entire function is centred on women, therefore, the stage will be given the shape of temples built by Maharani Ahilya Devi Holkar at Maheshwar.
Culture Minister Sharma informed that with function will open with cultural presentation ‘Shubhra’ by a troupe of 800 artistes. It will be based on civilisations that thrived on the banks of Narmada. ‘Shubhra’ will be directed by young choreographer Maiyetri Pahadi. It will be followed by an optical 3-D laser show on women’s creativity and capabilities.
After presentation of dance drama ‘Durga’ by famous artiste Hema Malini, attractive fireworks will be displayed followed by musical presentation by Asha Bhosle and her group. Those present on the occasion included Director Culture Shriram Tiwari and other officers.
Meanwhile, it was decided that voluntary organisations will decorate city’s crossings on the occasion of Madhya Pradesh Foundation Day on November 1. While talking to representatives of voluntary organisations at Lal Parade Ground, Culture Minister Laxmikant Sharma urged them to cooperate in tastefully decorating city’s crossing and sending invitations of the function to every households of Bhopal.
The Culture Minister held separate talks with representatives of voluntary organisations and also heard their suggestions. Taking responsibility of decorating separate crossings of the city as per their convenience, representatives of voluntary organisations promised to actively cooperate in giving a grand look to the function.
Sharma informed that entry to the function will be free and without passes. Large LED TVs will also be installed at the venue of the function so that people can watch the function in better way. Director Culture Shriram Tiwari was also present on the occasion.
