At exactly 7:20 am, Nargis, the child of Vineeta and Ajay Kumar Yadav, took birth at Maal Community Health Centre (CHC), about 40 km from Lucknow, to become the seven billionth baby of the world.
A galaxy of eminent personalities, including scion of Kirloskar group Arti Kirloskar, the Lucknow district magistrate’s wife Kismat Anil Sagar and member of the erstwhile Maal royal family Gayatri Singh, were present at the CHC to greet the world’s seven billionth baby on her arrival in the world.
The CHC was decked up with banners and buntings and a stage was specially prepared to celebrate the occasion. All the arrangements were elaborate.
Volunteers of several NGOs had reached the CHC at 6 am. Waiting for the arrival of the world’s seven billionth baby, they hotly debated who among the nine expectant mothers admitted at the Maal CHC would claim the glory.
Nargis weighed three kg at the time of birth. The delivery was normal.
