Fresh charges against CWG case accused

The CBI has filed two more chargesheets in a special CBI court levelling additional charges against three accused of a Commonwealth Games-related corruption case. The trio has been chargesheeted for allegedly trying to evade arrest and trial in the main graft case.

In its first supplementary chargesheet filed in Special CBI Judge Talwant Singh’s court, the CBI sought the trial of Hyderabad-based AKR Construction Pvt Ltd’s promoter AK Reddy on additional charges of evading arrest in the main case, involving award of a Games-related contract at inflated rates.

The second chargesheet has been filed against promoters of Faridabad-based Gem International, Purushottam Dev Arya and Anil Kumar Madan on similar ground under Section 174 of the Indian Penal Code.
