Relocation of doon tusker yet to begin
The tusker slated to be tranquilised and relocated from the forests near Rishikesh is still in the area while the trained elephants from Corbett national park are expected to arrive in the area by Tuesday.
The operation to translocate the tusker will begin after the trained elephants reach the area, said forest department officials. Meanwhile, wildlife activists state that the operation is unnecessary because the tusker which has not attacked anyone in the past 12 days is not a rogue.
