Sit for an exam to get MNS ticket!
Setting a new political precedent perhaps in the entire country, the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) has decided to hold written examination to its workers seeking party tickets to contest the forthcoming polls to Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) and four other major municipal corporations in the State.
Announcing the decision at a meeting of party workers held at Shanmukhananda Hall here, MNS chief Raj Thackeray said that he was breaking away intentionally from the traditional ways of nominating the candidates for the polls, by organising the written examination for the ticket aspirant.
The written examination for all the ticket aspirants will be held on December 4. The exams will last for one and half hours.
“Let me make it clear that no one will get a party ticket without appearing for and clearing the written examination. Written examination is one of the ways to assess their knowledge and capability,” he said.
Raj said that he himself would interview each and every ticket aspirants passing out the written examination. “It is only when the candidates concerned pass the muster in the interview that I will nominate them as candidates for the polls,” he added.
Meanwhile, the MNS started distributing the examination application forms to aspiring candidates from Mumbai at the party headquarters in Dadar later in the evening.
