Traders’ strike leaves Cuttack stranded
Commerce and business activities in the commercial hub of the State in Cuttack city came to a grinding halt on Thursday as traders downed their shutters from 6 am in the morning to 6 pm.
Reports reaching here said that elsewhere in the State the bandh had partial to complete effect. While the major markets in Rourkela and Paradip observed bandh from dawn to dusk, markets in Bhubaneswar and other parts of the State had responded partially to the bandh call.
In Cuttack, however, the bandh had a total response as markets in the main trading centers at Malgodown and Chhatra Bazaar were closed for 12 hours.
