MiG crash in Haryana; pilot hurt but safe
A MIG-21 aircraft of the Indian Air Force crashed due to a technical snag near village Mangalia, 34 km from Sirsa in Haryana on Friday. The pilot bailed out from the aircraft and apparently suffered minor injuries.

An official spokesman said that the pilot of the aircraft Commander JD Singh is safe. He took the aircraft away from the densely populated areas and then accompanied the air force officials who arrived at the spot after the crash.

A number of fire tenders were rushed to the spot and the burning debris of the aircraft was doused immediately. The Deputy Commissioner of Sirsa, Samirpal Srow and Superintendent of Police, Devender Singh reached the crash site immediately and pressed the security services and rescue and relief teams into action.

The spokesman added that the Deputy Commissioner also discussed the matter at length with an Officer of the Air Force, PS Yadav. It was informed that the pilot had ejected out of the craft just before the crash and had landed safely with the help of a parachute.

A 19 year old girl working in the fields nearby went into a state of shock upon hearing the explosion and was being treated at the General Hospital, Sirsa. The Deputy Commssioner also directed the Health Department to provide medical care to the affected girl free of cost.
