Rahul’s surprise visit to Bundelkhand event
In an effort to woo the people of Bundelkhand before the Uttar Pradesh Assembly polls, Congress general secretary Rahul Gandhi on Thursday made a surprise visit to a public hearing on Bundelkhand package. Rahul, who has been espousing the cause of Bundelkhand, said that the Centre has given the Rs 7500 crore package to the region but the funds were not reaching the people at the grass root level. He criticized the Mayawati Government of UP and BJP government of Madhya Pradesh for not allowing the funds reach the intended beneficiary due to rampant corruption.
