Police constable held for extorting money from property dealer
A Delhi police constable, who extorted money from a property dealer by planting two girls as job seekers in his office and then demanding Rs 1 lakh, has been arrested by the Crime Branch.
The case has come to light from Shakar pur area of west Delhi. A first battalion constable, Surender planned extrortion along with two girls, who called up the property delaer to ask for a job of a receptionist in his office.
A police officer informed, a property dealer named Firey Singh lodged an FIR with the Crime Branch. In his complaint, he mentioned that two women called him on November 11. One was Radhika and another was Nisha, both of whom wanted a job in his real estate company. He told them to come and meet him in his Shakar Pur office at about six pm in the evening. The girls came to meet him in the evening and he was discussing their qualifications when Surender came to his office and started questioning him on what was he up to with the two girls. When he said that he was interviewing them, the constable started alleging him of sexually harassing the two girls. He threatened him that if he does not pay him Rs 1 lakh, he will give the recorded footage in the CCTV camera to a TV news channel and defame him. Singh got scared at this and gave him Rs 93,000 to get rid of the problem.
When this was not all, the constable started calling Singh on his land line number and threatened him to pay Rs 1 lakh. This is when Singh decided to contact the police. The constable has been arrested by the police and an FIR under appropriate Sections of the IPC has been registered against him. The two girls who were found to be with him have also been arrested by the police, the officer added.
